PRE-PROFESSIONAL HEALTH
Overview
Good professional schools are not interested in simply turning out skilled technicians, they want to train good leaders. Students who are accepted into professional programs today must:
- have strong academic backgrounds
- have experience in addressing social problems
- understand what it takes to establish good relationships
- be involved in their communities.
These characteristics are best developed at a college like Dordt, which offers a strong core curriculum. Core courses and the comprehensive Christian perspective from which they and all Dordt College courses are taught will give you a solid knowledge base for pre-professional study. Courses in history, English, communication, philosophy, psychology, the arts, and science—all taught in the light of God’s Word—will help you see the connections between different parts of life and help give you a better sense of how you can honor God in the profession you choose. Rigorous science courses will prepare you for in-depth scientific study and open your eyes and heart to the needs and concerns of others.
