Physical therapists help clients develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability when those abilities are threatened by aging, injury, disease, or environmental factors. You may select any major, but the following pre-professional courses must be completed:
- biology, (zoology, human anatomy and physiology, biology electives)
- general chemistry
- general physics
- general psychology
- mathematics, (elementary statistics, college algebra or calculus).
Since particular requirements can vary by school, you will need to contact the physical therapy school of your choice early in your college career to plan your program. Pre-physical therapy advisor Dr. Chad Hanson, professor of health and human performance, will work closely with you to plan your program. His email address is email@example.com.
