Dave Schenk coaches both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Dordt College and started in both positions in 2008. Schenk guided the Dordt women to an 18-1-1 record in 2008, winning the Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season and post-season titles.
The Defenders earned their first ever berth in the NAIA National Tournament in 2008 before bowing out. Schenk’s career record as women’s coach is 57-32-8 while the Defender men are 43-46-4 during his tenure.
Schenk coached 19 years at the high school level and worked as an athletics director and physical education teacher for 20 years. Schenk compiled a 313-66-8 record in 18 seasons at Trinity Christian School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and one season at Statesville Christian in Statesville, North Carolina. He has served as the president/commissioner of the Southwest Christian Athletic Conference for eight years and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Schenk's Trinity Christian teams finished as state runner-up twice and he was named the district coach of the year in 2003 and 2004 and earned state coach of the year honors along with the national soccer coaches' association of America East Regional Private/Parochial coach of the year award in 2003.
Schenk also serves as Dordt College assistant sports information director and is the online play-by-play voice of the Dordt Blades hockey team.
Coach Schenk holds an Advanced National diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
