February 4, 2013

(Monday, February 4; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Danny Vos, a senior at Ripon Christian High School (California), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.

Vos has started three seasons at point guard for Ripon Christian and has averaged 10.6 points per game over his career with 7.3 assists and 2.8 steals.  He earned all-conference and all-area honors as a sophomore and junior and was the league most valuable player as a junior.  Vos has helped Ripon Christian to 36 straight conference wins.    He’s listed as a 6-0, 180 pound guard.

Vos also played football and was an all-conference and all-area selection as a junior and senior.

“We are very glad Danny has chosen to join our program.  He has enjoyed a tremendous high school career at Ripon Christian under coach Ron Vander Molen and believe he will develop into a fine college player as well,” said Dordt College men’s basketball coach Ross Douma.  “Danny is a competitive, multi-sport athlete who knows how to win.  In addition to being an excellent basketball player, Danny is an outstanding young man who will be a strong addition to our campus community.”

Danny is the son of Brian and Lynette Vos of Ripon, California.  He plans to study business administration or actuarial science at Dordt College.
