Madden Added To Dordt Volleyball

February 12, 2013

(Tuesday, February 12; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Becci Madden, a senior at Elkhorn South High School (Nebraska), has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender volleyball program.

Madden averaged 2.8 digs per set  and had a 92.5 percent serve efficiency while helping her team to a pair of conference titles in 2011 and 2012.  She served as a team captain in 2012 as Elkhorn South earned a trip to the state tournament and they were state semifinalists in 2011.  She has also played six years of volleyball for the River City Juniors Volleyball Club.  She claimed academic all-conference and academic all-state honors in 2012.

“It is unique these days to find a student-athlete who has been committed to the same program year in and year out.  For 6 years, she has had the benefit of Deb Grafentin’s leadership in the River City Juniors Volleyball Club.  Her Elkhorn South High School volleyball team has been consistently successful at the Nebraska state tournament.  Becci’s eagerness to excel in all areas of her life, her work ethic, and her coachability are a few of the reasons that we believe she will be successful here at Dordt College,” said Dordt College volleyball coach Chad Hanson.

Becci is the daughter of Mike and Jean Madden of Omaha, Nebraska.  She plans to study pre-veterinary at Dordt College.
