October 8, 2013

(Monday, July 8; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Haley Moss has announced her intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender volleyball program.  Moss will be a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa) in 2013-14 and will enroll at Dordt College in the fall of 2014.

Moss, a 6-6 right side hitter, has been a part of two state tournament runner-up teams and one state champion squad.  She had 277 kills in 2012 and 222 as a sophomore.  She was in on 95 blocks last season and earned first-team all-conference honors one year after claiming second-team honors in 2011.

"Haley is a tremendous young woman with talents in many areas of academics, music and athletics.  It has been a joy to watch her competitive growth on the volleyball court these past 2 years. I anticipate that she will provide great versatility to Dordt College while providing an immediate impact on our volleyball court through the front row in 2014.  Western Christian High School volleyball coach Tammi Verbeek has helped Haley blossom into a Division 1-type athlete.  I am grateful that Haley has chosen  Dordt College and our volleyball program," said Dordt College coach Chad Hanson.

Haley is the daughter of Kevin and Betty Moss of Boyden, Iowa.  She plans to study Education at Dordt College.
