Dordt Basketball Adds Fopma

(Monday, January 27; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Kyle Fopma, a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa) has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program while continuing his Christian education.

Fopma,  a three-year member of Western’s basketball program, is currently averaging 18.9 points per game and 3.5 assists while converting 48.8 percent of his shots from the field.  Fopma is a 6-1 guard.

“Kyle has worked hard to improve his skills at Western Christian under head coach Jim Eekhoff.  We look forward to his continued development on and off the court at Dordt College,” said head basketball coach Ross Douma.

Fopma is also involved as a student leader in the youth group at Faith Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Kyle is the son of Ladona and Wes Fopma of Sioux Center, Iowa.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
