Vigil To Join Defender Football

(Tuesday, March 25; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Gilbert Vigil,  a senior at Sierra High School (Colorado) has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender football program.

Vigil led Sierra in tackles last season with 122 and quarterback sacks with seven.  He served as a team captain for four years and is listed 6-0, 220 pounds.  He played linebacker, fullback and guard for Sierra.

Gilbert is the son of Louis and Nancy Vigil of Colorado Springs Colorado.  He plans to study criminal justice at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
