Student film nominated for IMPA award, professor part of panel discussion

The film and psychological thriller, “Brooklyn Shae,” created by five Dordt College students, has been nominated for an award by the Iowa Motion Picture Association (IMPA). Awards will be announced on Saturday, March 29, at the 23rd Annual IMPA Awards Gala and Extravaganza.

The film’s creators are Kelley De Jong (Orange City, Iowa), Justin Gloudemans (Big Lake, Minnesota), Abby Louwerse (Orange City, Iowa), Andrew Miller (Joice, Iowa), and Tanner Smith (Sioux Center, Iowa). Gloudemans is also the script writer.

Dordt College Digital Media Production Professor Mark Volkers is an IMPA board member who serves as a judge and will be part of three panel discussions in Burlington, Iowa, during the event.
