Life after College event will tackle tough topics of post-college life, April 8

March 31, 2014

Interested in attending graduate school? Unsure of how to pay back student loans in a timely manner? Curious about transitioning from college to the workplace?

On April 8, starting at 7 p.m., three panels of area professionals will tackle these topics and more at “Life after College.” This event, taking place in CA 317, 318, and 319, is sponsored by the Career Development Center and is geared toward helping college students begin thinking about some of the issues they’ll encounter after graduation.

This event will feature three panel sessions—one for personal finance, one for human resources, and one for graduate school—with area professionals and experienced academics who can speak to topics like student loan repayment, budgeting, basic benefits packages, “real world” transition tips, grad school applications, and much more. The panels will each present twice: once at 7 and again at 7:30 p.m.

After the panel discussions, interested students and professionals will participate in a speed networking event in the Terrace Room so that students can interact with the professionals individually.

This is the final event of the semester of the Career Development Center’s “Life 101” events. The Career Development Center seeks to equip students and alumni to develop the professional tools they need to succeed in the workplace and beyond.
