The nursing department at Dordt College will hold its spring pinning ceremony on Thursday, May 8, when 17 bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) students will be awarded a unique Dordt nursing pin. The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. A reception will follow in the Eckardt Lounge in the Campus Center.
The keynote address will be given by Jennifer Weg, chief nursing officer at Sanford Health in Worthington, Minnesota. Weg has an M.S.N. in nursing administration from South Dakota State University. She previously taught the Community and Public Health Nursing course at Dordt College for two years.
This year’s graduating class consists of the following students: Stephanie Ahrenholz (Prinsburg, Minnesota), Janie Bonestroo (Boyden, Iowa), Jocelyn Bousema (Sheldon, Iowa), Anita Buiter (Darien, Illinois), Larissa Burgers (Hull, Iowa), Kimberlee Davelaar (Sioux Center, Iowa), Danie Franje (New Sharon, Iowa), Kari Mulder (Sioux Center, Iowa), Kathryn Heynen (Sheldon, Iowa), Torre Kok (Sioux Center, Iowa), Kelsey Tillema (Ripon, California), Alex Van Beek (Rock Valley, Iowa), Sara van der Giessen (Lake Forest Park, Washington), Brianna Vanderveen (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Stacie Vellema (Sioux Center, Iowa), Kevin Vermeer (Lansing, Illinois), and Kristen Wassenaar (Orange City, Iowa).
