Timmer To Golf At Dordt College

(Tuesday, May 6; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Jay Timmer, a senior at Chicago Christian High School (Illinois), has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender golf program.

Timmer was a four-time meet medalist over the course of his two-year high school varsity career and placed fourth at the IHSA Regional.  He tied for ninth at the IHSA Sectional and qualified for the IHSA State Finals.  He was an academic all-conference pick in 2012 and 2013 and was the Chicago Christian co-captain as a senior.  Timmer was also involved in football, basketball and baseball during his high school career.

Jay is the son of Mark and Bonnie Timmer of Tinley Park, Illinois.  He plans to study  mathematics and statistics at Dordt College.

Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. Dordt’s athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). 

U.S. News & World Report,, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,400 students.
