Dordt Recruit Named All-Star Game MVP

(Monday, June 16; Sioux Center, Iowa) Dordt College women’s basketball commit Jamie Schuetz earned most valuable player honors recently at the Nebraska Black Sports Hall of Fame All-Star game.

Schuetz, who committed to Dordt College in November, scored 20 points and grabbed double digit rebounds  and hit the game winning basket in the game.

A graduate of Gretna High School, Schuetz averaged 14 points and six rebounds as a senior while helping the Dragons to a 19-6 record and a 2014 state tournament berth.  She averaged 10 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals per game as a junior and  led the team in rebounding and was second in scoring.  She was a Class B all-state honorable mention and was an honorable mention all-conference pick.  Schuetz claimed 2013 Omaha World Herald all-area second-team honors and has lettered three times for Gretna. She was a 2014 Class B second-team all-state selection.  A strong all-around athlete, Schuetz has earned all-conference and all-state honors in softball during her high school career.
