Christians To Coach Women's Golf

July 28, 2014

(Monday, July 28; Sioux Center, Iowa)  Dordt College Athletic Director Glenn Bouma has announced the restructuring of the Dordt College men’s and women’s golf teams’ coaching staffs.

Dr. Mark Christians, longtime head coach of the Dordt men’s program will take the same role with the women’s team for the 2014-15 school year.  Christians will remain the men’s head coach, a post he has held since 2003.

“We are grateful Mark has accepted the opportunity to be the head coach of the women’s program while continuing as the men’s head coach,” said Bouma.  “We believe the restructuring will benefit the student-athletes in both programs and allow them to be instructed by a very capable coaching staff.  We appreciate greatly the work that Matt Nice has done in getting the women’s program started.”

Matt Nice, head coach of the women’s program since the program’s start in 2010, will serve as an assistant coach for both teams.  Nice is also the Director of Golf at The Ridge in Sioux Center.

Also serving as an assistant coach for the women’s program will be Karrie Van Ravensway, Assistant Golf Pro at The Ridge.  Dr. Tim Van Soelen will continue to assist the men’s team.
