Admissions Counselor

Dordt College has an opening for an Admissions Counselor beginning in May of 2014. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, this person will be responsible for working with prospective students and families to communicate the opportunities available to them at Dordt College. This person will effectively communicate the programs offered, extra-curricular activities that are available, and engage and enhance their interest and participation in Christian Higher Education as a whole.

Duties include contacting students by phone as well as at schools, churches, homes and at college fairs across the country. This work involves planning trips, preparing itineraries, and traveling to various destinations to meet with prospective students and parents.

Desired qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree, strong computer skills, and effective and efficient organizational and coordination skills. Excellent public relations and written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with prospective students who are high school age are desired. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and be willing to do extensive traveling, which would include evenings and weekends.

Qualified candidates with a personal commitment to a Reformed, biblical faith and a desire to work with faculty, staff and students at a Christian college should forward a letter of application and resume to the Director of Human Resources. Andreas Center Administrative Assistant

Dordt College is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to serve in the Andreas Center for Reformed Scholarship and Service.

This position would involve approximately 25 hours per week during the academic year with flexible summer hours. Responsibilities include providing advanced and diversified administrative duties, conducting research, planning and scheduling events or conferences, managing social media and web presence, and providing support to the Director.

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have strong administrative abilities in basic office procedures, knowledge of and ability to manage a web presence and social media, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple entities and be able to manage competing priorities. A willingness to support occasional evening meetings or activities is beneficial.

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Christian school governance and policies would be beneficial.
