Business Office
The Business Office seeks to provide courteous service to our students, parents, and business partners.
It is responsible for the financial reporting for the university, processing vendor invoices and student and employee reimbursement requests, collecting and recording student payments, and administering payroll for students and employees.

As of November 15, the Canadian exchange rate is at 69%.
The Business Office determines the rate of exchange on the 1st and 15th of the month.
U.S. Checks
Personal or two-party checks not exceeding $150 can be cashed at the Business Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Canadian Checks and Cash
Canadian checks can be exchanged for U.S. currency at the Business Office with a $200 (U.S. amount) limit per student per week. Note: we are unable to convert Canadian currency to U.S. currency at this time.
Although Dordt University cannot provide formal tax advice, we encourage students and parents to access or obtain the following resources to assist in determining eligibility for tax credits:
- Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Higher Education. This publication can be obtained at any IRS office or downloaded from www.irs.gov/publications.
- Notice 97-60, Education Tax Incentives. This notice addresses specific questions that taxpayers may have concerning eligibility for tax credits.
- A comprehensive website covering tax credits created by the IRS at www.irs.gov/uac/Tax-Benefits-for-Education:-Information-Center
Under the provisions of the TRA97, Dordt University is required to report to the student and the IRS certain information concerning student status on a tax statement referred to as Form 1098-T.
Current students have online access to their 1098-T on Dordt U > Finances under Electronic Tax Forms if they provide consent. To provide consent, please follow these instructions. If no consent is given to receive the form electronically, a copy of this tax form will be mailed to students' home addresses on or before January 31.

Students from the United States and Canada are required to find their own accident/medical insurance. International students will be contacted by email regarding the plan provided to them.
