Pre-Occupational Therapist
Pre-Occupational Therapists take an educational track to become a certified Occupational therapist.
Nurse's Assistant
A Nurse's Assistant works under the supervision of a regular nurse and helps patients with direct health care needs as well as provides assistance to the nurse.
Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapists work with individuals experiencing short-term or life-long physical, mental, and emotional disabilities and help them work towards better health.

Pre-Occupational Therapy Program
If you are interested in a career in occupational therapy, you could major in psychology, biology, or health, physical education and recreation. Although specific course requirements vary, you will need to take courses in:
- Biology (introduction to biology, anatomy and physiology)
- Psychology (introductory, psychopathology, developmental, personality)
- Introductory science
- Humanities (English composition)
- Mathematics
- Other areas that vary from program to program.
Certification as an occupational therapist is based on graduation from an approved occupational therapy program and acceptable performance on the American Occupational Therapy examination.
Every professional school has their own entrance requirements, so at Dordt, students work with the pre-professional advisors to determine which courses they need to prepare them for their professional school.
