Criminal Justice Faculty Member Elected President of Fleoa Iowa and Nebraska Chapter

Criminal Justice Faculty Member Jon Moeller is elected the President of Fleoa Iowa and Nebraska Chapter.

Jon Moeller, instructor of criminal justice at Dordt University, has been elected president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), representing the active and retired federal law enforcement officials in Iowa and Nebraska.

Exclusively representing federal law enforcement officers, FLEOA is the largest nonpartisan, nonprofit professional association, with more than 26,000 federal law enforcement officers from over 65 different agencies.

“In these uncertain times, it is crucial, now more than ever, that strong leaders step forward and represent their members’ voices,” says Moeller. “They need a leader who is willing to express the needs of members and is able to do so without the fear of reprisal and without reservation. Ensuring our members are fully represented is a critical component of FLEOA’s motto ‘Don’t Go It Alone.’”

Moeller says he is fortunate that, as president of FLEOA’s Iowa and Nebraska chapter, he is pushed to relate his work as a Dordt instructor to what is happening in the field.

“It allows us to stay relevant in an ever-changing world. At Dordt, what we do is not just about bookwork. My association with FLEOA allows Dordt students the insight on hiring practicing as well as a head start on training.”

As president of FLEOA’s Iowa and Nebraska chapter, Moeller says he will continue to engage with members of the news media, lawmakers, and other members of the law enforcement community to ensure they have the resources they need to carry out their important, noble work.

“As a retired federal law enforcement official, I am honored to represent this fine group that is willing to serve and protect,” says Moeller.

As an institution of higher education committed to the Reformed Christian perspective, Dordt University equips students, faculty, alumni, and the broader community to work toward Christ-centered renewal in all aspects of contemporary life. Dordt, located in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive university named to the best college lists by The Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review.
