Dordt University Chamber Orchestra to perform on January 12

The Dordt University Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12 at the B.J. Haan Auditorium.

This concert has been postponed to a later date due to winter weather.

The Dordt University Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12 at the B.J. Haan Auditorium. This free concert is part of a winter tour with performances scheduled in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa.

Under the baton of Associate Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Activities Dr. Onsby C. Rose, the Chamber Orchestra will perform a wide variety of repertoire ranging from the Romantic era with Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, to music by living composers, such as Only Light by Minnesota native Aaron Perrine.

More than 300 Dordt students participate in the music program, with opportunities to perform in five choral groups, two orchestras, and four bands. Music scholarships are available to qualified students.
