Dordt University student completes fourth book in children’s series
Kady Toole, a Dordt University student, has released the fourth book in her children's series, Izzy the Corgi Adventure Series, featuring a courageous corgi who solves mysteries.
Kady Toole, a sophomore studying graphic design and fine arts at Dordt University, has completed the fourth book in her children's book series, Izzy the Corgi Adventure Series.
The new book, Izzy the Corgi in a Sticky Situation, follows Izzy, the loyal pet of Mayor Chloe Goodwin, as she works to solve the mystery of the missing sap at the annual Maple Festival. Maple Grove’s furriest detective must sniff out the clues and solve the mystery. Teaming up with an unlikely ally—a sweet-smelling moose—Izzy races to save the festival before it’s too late.
Toole’s books are available in both paperback and hardcover at www.izzythecorgi.com, Amazon, and other major online retailers.
The character of Izzy is inspired by Toole’s own corgi. “The fictional Izzy and real Izzy are both very clever and cute, but that's where the similarities end,” says Toole. “Fictional Izzy is brave and courageous, but the real Izzy is a bit of a scaredy cat. She’s afraid of other dogs and animals, balloons, loud noises, automatic pet waterers, and other weird things.”
“One of the best things about having Izzy be the star of my books is that I get to take her with me to book events whenever I can,” adds Toole. “She loves to go as she gets attention, and I like having her with me because it makes my being in the spotlight easier.”
While the series is especially suitable for students in second and third grade, Toole’s children’s book series has captivated many young readers—and their parents—with its fun adventures and lovable characters.
“My first goal is to entertain both the child and the parents so that the books are something everyone wants to read over and over again,” says Toole. “I also try to make sure the kids learn things from my books—new words, new places, or new concepts.”
