Dordt University’s Master of Social Work program partnering with Central Christian College of Kansas

The Master of Social Work program at Dordt University has announced a new partnership with Central Christian College of Kansas.

Dordt University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program is partnering with Central Christian College of Kansas in McPherson, Kansas. Students in Central Christian College of Kansas' psychology program can now fast-track their path to an MSW degree.

“This collaboration allows our graduates to seamlessly transition into Dordt's high-quality, Christ-centered Master of Social Work program,” says Dr. Lara Vanderhoof, chief academic officer at Central Christian College of Kansas. “The ability to waive up to 9 credits not only reduces the time and cost for our students to earn their MSW but also provides them with a flexible, fully online learning experience.”

“By building on the strong foundation they’ve established at Central Christian, students can transition smoothly into a program that emphasizes both professional excellence and a biblical approach to social work,” adds Joe Bakker, dean for online, graduate, and partner programs at Dordt.

Both institutions' dedication to developing servant leaders who seek justice, research-informed practice, and promote human flourishing makes this partnership a natural fit. “Dordt’s MSW program is deeply rooted in the mission of preparing students to serve others with wisdom, compassion, justice, and the love of Christ,” says Bakker. “This partnership aligns with that mission by welcoming students who share a commitment to faith-based service into a graduate program designed to integrate Christian principles with professional social work practice.”

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to preparing students for impactful careers in social services while maintaining a strong foundation in faith-based education,” adds Vanderhoof.

Dordt’s MSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and approved by the Higher Learning Commission.
