Sioux Center's new indoor turf facility to be named the American State Bank Sports Complex
The indoor turf facility, which will be built through a partnership between the City of Sioux Center and Dordt University, will be named the American State Bank Sports Complex.
“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Dordt University and the City of Sioux Center with this state-of-the-art facility,” says Stan Speer, president and CEO of American State Bank. “Community is one of our core values, and we are pleased to invest resources for the betterment of our communities.”
The construction of the indoor turf facility is made possible in part by a generous sponsorship by American State Bank. The American State Bank Sports Complex, which is slated to be completed in 2022, will allow for multiple practices and workouts to be administered simultaneously. Community events such as city recreation programming, youth athletic leagues and clinics, and other activities will be held at the complex. It is estimated that more than 200,000 visitors will make use of the facility each year.
“We are grateful for American State Bank’s support of this new addition to Sioux Center, which will offer our community new options for year-round wellness, recreation and sporting activities,” says David Krahling, mayor of the City of Sioux Center. “This indoor turf facility is an opportunity to build on the city and Dordt University’s strong tradition of sharing facilities for the benefit of the entire community.”
“Cities like Sioux Center are made because, at pivotal moments in history, people and organizations step forward to make investments in the future. American State Bank has done this with a lead sponsorship for this indoor turf facility, and we will all be the beneficiaries of this investment for generations to come,” says Hoekstra.
American State Bank will have their logo displayed on the exterior of the indoor turf facility and will also be recognized in the entrance of the head house facility. The facility will be operated jointly by Dordt University and the City of Sioux Center.
