Newest Ensembles CD is now available for pre-order
The Dordt University Music Department is now taking pre-orders for Music With Friends, a CD that will be professionally recorded and produced by Mark Custom Recording Service this spring, featuring the Dordt Wind Symphony.
The record is named Music With Friends to reflect the relationships within the band, and with the composers who are friends of Conductor Dr. Onsby Rose and Dordt University. The CD will consist of 11 different works by current composers including: Meechan, Bergman, Oquin, Piunno, Day, Guillino, Rose, Posthuma, Friedland, Naff, and Maslanka (who passed away in 2017).
“The wind symphony and I are elated to be able to share this music with the world. Our ability to make a recording at this level is a wonderful example of the work God is doing at Dordt. We hope this music brings great joy to those who wrote it, those who will hear it, as well as bringing all glory to God for providing us the talent and drive to undertake such an enormous project.”
59 current Dordt students will participate as performing members of the ensemble in the recording. The Wind Symphony will record in the B.J. Haan Auditorium March 10-13, and the recording will then be edited and produced at the record label in New York.
The CD will be released worldwide with physical copies and via 250+ streaming services in September 2021. Pre-order your CD today.
