Register now for Defender Days 2024

Registration is now open for Defender Days 2024, an annual weekend celebration at Dordt University that brings together students, alumni, parents, and friends for a series of engaging events, including home sporting events, concerts, and popular ticketed gatherings that highlight the institution's past, present, and future accomplishments.

Registration is now open for Defender Days, which will be held on October 25 – 26, 2024.

Defender Days is a weekend of fun where students, alumni, and parents celebrate Dordt and reunite on campus for home sporting events, concerts, and more.

To register and see the full lineup of weekend events, visit dordt.edu/events/defender-days-2024.

“People come to Defender Days not only to reminisce about the past, but to celebrate the future of Dordt University and see what’s coming next,” says Becky Ringsby, alumni and signature events coordinator.

Popular ticketed events include:

  • Fall theatre production of “Fiddler on the Roof
  • Business Connections Breakfast
  • Defender Nation Dinner
  • President’s Brunch

These events require mobile or printed tickets for entry, which can be purchased online. Defender Days participants are encouraged to register well in advance, as last year’s ticketed events sold out.

“Last year, we had hundreds more alumni, parents, and friends come back to Defender Days,” says Alicia Bowar, director of alumni and parent relations. “They are highly engaged, deeply committed, and excited about what’s happening on campus. They make this weekend a priority for their families.”

On October 25 at 7 p.m. at the varsity men’s basketball game, the women’s basketball 2024 national championship banner will be revealed during halftime. The women’s basketball team defeated 14th ranked University of Providence 57-53 to win the program’s first-ever NAIA National Championship on March 26, 2024 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Executive Assistant for Enrollment and Marketing Kaysha Steiger says that Defender Days is a beautiful time to reflect on God’s faithfulness through the years.

“We see people who graduated in some of Dordt’s early years to those who graduated this past year, and everyone in-between. We gather to share in the legacy of Dordt, but also join together to worship our Lord together. Through it all, the Lord has been faithful. And when we take the time to step back and reflect on that, we can be amazed at our great Savior we serve.”
