Herman will be playing works by Bach, Brahms, Speuy, and Visser, the latter three of which were selected because they are arrangements of chorale, psalm, and hymn tunes, reflecting her passion as a church organist. For Herman, a highlight of the recital is the Canonic Variations on Slane by Larry Visser because “he expresses many of the emotions of the Christian faith and excellently captures the text of the hymn Be Thou My Vision.”
Herman, of Boise, Idaho, is an Accounting major with minors in Organ Performance and the Kuyper Honors Program. She has studied organ with Carrie Groenewold since 2020.
