Becky Donahue
Theatre Department Production Manager & Costumer
Education
B.A., Northwestern College
Background
I come from a background in performing arts, which I have been involved in since age 5, when I started attending Performing arts schools in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Milwaukee High School of the Arts with a theatre major, I attended Northwestern College as a communications major. While there, I was heavily involved in the theater community through design and leadership roles. While at Northwestern College, I founded RUSH: A Student Dance Concert, now in its 20th year. The next step in my education journey will be starting my MFA with the University of Idaho in the area of theatrical design with a focus on costume and scenic design in the Fall of 2023.
After graduating from Northwestern College, my husband Vaughn (Dordt University Instructor in Graphic Design) and I stayed in Sioux County, where I continued to contribute to the arts community through teaching as the Director of Orange City Just For Kix, coaching the MOC-FV High School dance team, sat on the board of the Orange City Arts Council and choreographed and co-directed many Tulip Festival Night Show. Before taking the Dordt University Theatre Arts Costume Shop and Production Manager positions, I worked as the Events Coordinator with Orange City Art and as the Office and Building Manager for NWC.
