I am a Professor of Mathematics with expertise in mathematics education. I am passionate about high quality mathematics instruction and love exploring this with preservice teachers. Prior to teaching at Dordt, I spent twelve years in middle and high schools teaching various subjects and coaching. I also serve as the Principal Investigator for a $1.2 million National Science Foundation Noyce grant to support pre-service STEM teachers. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family.
